In this two-part episode, I chat with Elliot Shultz (Team Bridgelane) who is an aspiring U23 riding for the Australian Team at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race this year. In the first part of the episode Elliot and I preview the Cadel Evans RR. We discuss how the Australian composite team addresses their tactics between the young riders and Caleb Ewan, how he prepares for the race, their nutrition strategy and what they will consume during the race and Elliot’s personal ambitions for the race. The second half is dedicated to a traumatic crash Elliot suffered whilst over in Belgium in 2022. The story is both harrowing and inspiring and Elliot was keen to share it with you to hopefully provide some motivation and hope for anyone who has suffered from a major setback in their cycling career.
